To satisfy building control requirements we need to remove some problem trees. Toby was so lovely to deal with. He promptly came round to look at the job, we had a quote the same day and a date scheduled for the work not long after that. Toby and his colleague (also called Toby) were super competent at removing trees, grinding the stumps, trimming remaining trees and tidying up afterwards. Very straightforward and transparent to deal and reasonably priced compared with other quotes.

We are very pleased with the work done by Toby and his team. We had a number of hedges that needed cutting back and shaping and they did an excellent job. They were very conscientious and liaised with us throughout to make sure we were happy with the results. They also did an excellent job of clearing away all the debris with the garden and drive looking immaculate after finishing. Above All Tree Care came highly recommended and we can see why. We will definitely plan to use them in the future.

What Makes Emergency Tree Situations in Amersham So Difficult to Handle Alone

The Chiltern Hills fringe that Amersham sits within is one of the reasons the area looks the way it does. Mature beech, ash, and oak are part of the landscape here, trees that have been growing for decades and carry a scale and weight that most people underestimate until something goes wrong.

When a large tree fails, the problem is rarely just the tree itself. It is the branch suspended in the canopy above. It is the trunk that has partially split but not fully fallen. It is the root plate that has lifted on the far side and destabilised everything sitting above it. These are not problems you can assess from the ground with any confidence, and they are certainly not problems for anyone without the right training and equipment.

That is the point at which calling a qualified arborist matters. Not because the job looks dramatic, but because getting it wrong, whether through an incorrect assessment or an uncontrolled removal, can turn a serious situation into a dangerous one.

We serve Amersham with NPTC Level 3 qualified tree surgeons, full public liability insurance, and the rigging and sectioning equipment that emergency removals actually require.

Tree Felling and Removal Services Enquiry

Signs That a Tree in Amersham Needs Immediate Attention

Not every tree problem is an emergency, but some absolutely are. If any of the following is true, call rather than enquiring online.

  • A tree or large limb has landed on your roof, outbuilding, fence, or a vehicle
  • Something is blocking your driveway, a shared access point, or the road
  • A tree is sitting at a lean it was not at before the last spell of wind or rain
  • A major branch has cracked but not fully separated and is hanging in the canopy
  • Waterlogging or ground movement has exposed or shifted the root system
  • A fallen tree has crossed a boundary and is now on neighbouring property

Do not walk underneath anything unstable or attempt to move fallen material before a qualified person has assessed the situation. Call 07919 147565 and we will take it from there.

Why Qualified Emergency Tree Removal in Amersham Makes the Difference

Response that reflects where we work

Serving Amersham means we are not arriving from a distant depot. When the situation is urgent, our travel time reflects that.

Technical training for complex jobs

Emergency removals are rarely straightforward. Trees over structures, limbs suspended above parked cars, root systems that have shifted under saturated ground; all of these require the kind of technical judgement that comes from NPTC Level 3 qualification and genuine field experience. Every job has that on site.

Insurance that actually covers what is happening

Every emergency call-out is backed by comprehensive public liability insurance. That covers you, your property, and any third-party risk throughout the job.

The job is not done until the site is clear

Once the main tree is down, the work continues. Every section of trunk, every branch, every piece of debris leaves with us. You are not left managing a pile of wood at the end of the day.

The price you are quoted is the price you pay

We give you a clear figure before any work begins. Nothing changes mid-job, regardless of how the removal develops.

Amersham Emergency Tree Removal Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can an emergency tree surgeon reach Amersham?

Response times vary depending on demand and the nature of the situation, but we treat genuine emergencies as exactly that and aim to get to you as fast as safely possible.

A large branch is hanging in the canopy but hasn't fallen yet. Is that an emergency?

Yes, a suspended or partially attached limb is one of the most unpredictable hazards in tree work and should be treated as urgent, not left to resolve itself.

Can you remove a tree that has fallen across my boundary into a neighbour's garden?

We can remove it safely from wherever it has landed, though ownership and liability questions about the damage are usually a matter between you, your neighbour, and your respective insurers.

Do I need to contact my insurer before you start work?

It is worth notifying them as soon as possible, but if the situation is causing immediate risk to a structure or access, making the site safe takes priority.

Will you remove the stump as part of an emergency call-out?

Stump grinding is not always included in an emergency removal, but we can advise on the options and schedule it alongside or separately depending on what suits you.

A tree has come down near an overhead line. Is it safe to approach?

No. Treat any fallen tree near power or telephone lines as a live hazard and keep well clear until the relevant utility company has confirmed it is safe.

Does the Amersham area have any tree protection rules that affect emergency removal?

Some trees in Amersham may be subject to Tree Preservation Orders or sit within a conservation area, but emergency removal of an immediate hazard is generally permitted without prior consent provided it is reported promptly.

What should I do whilst waiting for the team to arrive?

Stay inside or well away from the affected area, keep others back from the site, and if there is any risk to a gas or electricity supply, contact the relevant utility provider immediately.

Can storm-damaged trees be made safe without full removal?

In many cases, yes. Depending on the extent of the damage and the tree's overall health, it may be possible to carry out emergency crown reduction or deadwooding rather than full removal, preserving the tree where it is safe to do so.

What if the fallen tree has damaged a fence or outbuilding?

We will make the immediate area safe and remove the tree in a way that minimises further damage to structures. We can also advise on what to document for insurance purposes before work begins.

Is emergency tree work available outside standard working hours in Amersham?

Genuine emergencies do not keep office hours, and neither do we. We are available to take calls outside normal hours when trees are causing an immediate risk to life or property.

How do I know if a leaning tree is about to fall?

Warning signs include a sudden increase in lean, soil heaving or cracking at the base, exposed roots on one side, or cracks in the main trunk. If you notice any of these, treat it as urgent and seek professional assessment without delay.

Are your emergency tree surgeons qualified and insured?

Yes. Our team hold NPTC certifications and we carry full public liability and employer liability insurance, so you can have confidence in both the safety of the work and your protection throughout the process.

Do you provide a written report after emergency tree work in Amersham?

We can provide written documentation of the work carried out, which is particularly useful if you need to submit a claim to your insurer or notify the local authority about the removal of a protected tree.
